The Division of Geriatrics and Nutritional Sciences strives to improve human health and aging through our Center for Human Nutrition, longevity research and clinical studies that evaluate approaches to diet, nutrition and disease prevention.
Center for Human Nutrition
The Washington University Center for Human Nutrition was established in 1995. The center hosts weekly seminars and is made up of the following entities:
- Atkins Center of Excellence in Obesity Medicine
- Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nutrition Support Service
- Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC)
- Washington University Weight Management Program
We study factors that assist in predicting mortality and morbidity of selected populations and research methods to promote improvements in longevity and health by analyzing the effects of changes in medicine and advances in public health practices.
Our division conducts a wide array of clinical studies evaluating approaches to diet, nutrition and disease prevention.
