Dr. Tosti works on clinical research studies that explore the metabolic effects of different nutritional approaches such as protein restriction, calorie restriction, intermittent fasting and the Mediterranean diet in humans. She is interested in the role of diet on cardiovascular function, cancer prevention, inflammation, glucose metabolism and the aging process. She also recently initiated a research study to test the effects of intermittent fasting in patients with Multiple Sclerosis, as a possible additional intervention to control relapses and disease progression.
